When we started this blog Shannon said that he was going to blog. As you can see that hasn't happened very much. So, I decided that I should do an update.
We have been crazy busy this year. I wanted to take a minute to update you on what we've been up to.
As most of you know we returned back to Ecuador in April after being in the states for a third foot surgery. We were here 4 days before picking up our first team member, Beth. We hosted our first team of the year about two weeks later. Then we welcomed our next team members, Jake and Ellen Tinnell. (and girls) About a week later we picked up our second team from the airport. Ten days later we picked our kids up from the airport. Then a week later we picked up our third team. Is this wearing anyone out yet? I told you that we've been busy. I think we could drive to the airport with our eyes closed by now.
Enjoy the pictures and the update.
We began working on the training center in the community of San Juan Alto. This center will be used to train the women in this community a trade so they can support their family. It will also be used as a feeding center to feed the children in this community. And eventually, it will be used as a extension bible school to train pastors all over the province of Imbabura. If you want to give towards this project you can click here.
The first team for the summer was McArthur First Assembly. Before we started work at the construction site we prayed over the property.
This is Don Jose praying for this building and his community.
Here is the construction site. They started out digging holes for the foundation.
Marc and Robin Bateman are the pastors at McArthur. We've been friends with them for many years. We love them very much.
Our next team was a medical team from Indiana. We had a great week with them, it was a hard week but it was all worth it. I didn't get a picture with the team leaders, Stacy and Jeanine Johnson, but they are great people and we appreciate everything that they do for us and the community of San Juan Alto.
This is Dr. Spiker doing some dental work on the president of San Juan Alto.
We picked up our kids from the airport to spend the summer with us. We are very thankful to have them here with us.
We celebrated Father's Day. I was so glad that Shannon had the kids with him this year because last year he was alone.
Our next team was Wynne First. Lot of hard work going on with theses three. Always dabbing.
We had a great service with Pastors Keith and Jackie Underhill.
This is us with Luzmila at the construction site.
